We are delighted to announce that online registration is now open for the
'New Craft - Future Voices' Conference & Exhibition 2007, which will be held
at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, University of Dundee,
Scotland.
A conference about the experience of creating craft in the 21st Century,
bringing together makers, researchers, managers, curators, theoreticians and
historians from throughout the world for 3 days of discussion, debate and
creative inspiration.A vibrant exhibition in three venues will also showcase
the most contemporary new work.
Digital, Radical, Innovative, Fine, D.I.Y, Process, Craftivism and Hobbyist
craft - this event seeks to capture the diversity of activities within the
crafts and take stock of its fast changing cultural and creative role. It
will promote the highest level of craft practice and initiate a new
discourse around some critical issues, including the economic contribution
of craft.
Sandra Alfoldy, Paul Greenhalgh, Marie O’Mahony, Bruce Metcalf and Joruun
Veiteberg are the 'New Craft Future Voices' keynote speakers. A total of 75

strategy, enterprise management, sustainability, identity and digital
aesthetics.

000 which was received in September 2006. The event emanates from a
five-year Arts and Humanities Research Council funded grant (circa £450,000)
