I've been told today that due to insurance terms becoming tighter, the
business insurance doesn't cover for 'medical risks'. As a result the OHA's
hsve stopped performing vaccinations, and venepuncture until this is sorted.
Further comment by the insurance department is that the additional premium
may be prohibitive.
It's a local authority so we belong to UNISON and asked their opinion, (as
their insurance covers any NHS members at work) - their view is that it
should be a corporate cover.
At the moment it's a watch this space, I'll keep you posted as to
developments but any thuoghts would be appreciated.
