medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Are you certain it's a female? That sounds a great deal like a late Medieval/Renaissance depiction of St. Jerome.

| Hello everyone,
|
| I have saint in a manuscript that I am unable to identify.
| The saint is female, dressed in red, with a lion resting his
| paws on her lap. She is seated, with a book in her hand.
| Another oddity is her large broad-brimmed red hat, which
| resembles a cardinal's hat.
|
| Any help would be great,
|
| Daniel
