Yes, I posted this earlier, but it probably got lost in the noise:
There is the phenomenon of the double piscina. This can be dated precisely:
first half of the 14th century, I believe. This was in direct response to
the requrement that a separate drain be provided for the ablutions. This
was then changed to the priest consuming the ablutions, and a single piscina
thereafter sufficed. (This from memory, so the precise details may not be
correct.)
