I'm no expert on spooks or exorcisms but in the case
of miracles, my personal favorites are in Bunuel's
'Simon of the Desert' when a man with no hands
suddenly has his hands restored to him, whereupon he
smacks the back of his son's head. Bunuel uses
similar miracles in his films 'Susana,' 'The
Exterminating Angel,' and 'The Adventures of Robinson
Crusoe.' But perhaps most pertinent of all is
Dreyer's 'Ordet' where a resurrectory miracle is
performed. It's straight off the hinges.
