Sublimely light philosophy? Any film that involves mention of the
mind-body problem and that also includes Fred Astaire dancing (not to
mention Hepburn's dance in front of Astaire at the emphaticalist cafe)
seems to point to something interesting at some level. (And certainly
many philosophers facing a mid-career/life crisis would find the song
line "My philosophical search has left me in the lurch" quite revealing.
Well, I guess thinking pink is not the most profound thinking, but as
Sarris might note, perhaps a subject for further research. Embodiment
theory might be a place to start with this one. My sense is that
philosophical profundity may exist apart from philosophical dialogue or
maybe even plot, though I guess that removes it from explicit?
