This three day conference offers practitioners, researchers and policymakers
interested in joint use libraries (eg joint public-school libraries, joint
university-public libraries) a unique opportunity to meet, network and
share experiences.
The conference will be held from 19th to 21st June 2007 at The Lowry in
Manchester (www.thelowry.com).
The programme includes:
• Case studies comprising short reports of activities or projects
• Reflective papers discussing a range of activities or an area of research
• Optional visits to North City and East City joint use libraries in
Manchester and Bolton Central Library
• Conference dinner with a poetry reading by Wendy Cope
Speakers from England, Scotland, the United States, Canada, Australia,
Scandinavia and elsewhere will be addressing issues including:
• How to staff and manage a joint use library
• Designing a joint use library
• Standards and guidelines
• Information literacy
• Large-scale and multiple-partner collaborations
