It's a method of printing - rather than the bed moving under the roller,
as in most printmaking, the roller moves over the bed - it's a method
more used for newspaper and page printing. We have to make some repairs
- and modifications - but it should be pretty straightforward. Learning
to make a weld in cast-iron is the greatest challenge so far - at some
stage some has dropped part of the roller.
Oh - and we have a bookpress. And a friend who is a bookbinder. Now all
we need is time...

This is very exciting, Caleb!
Credit to your strong hearts and backs.
Tell us more about Vandenberg presses...
since I was a student in Auckland where the English dept acquired a
little old
handpress to teach us how to be Shakespeare scholars, I have wanted a
press and
some fonts....
I only have skills at proofreading, however, to this day.
