Thank you for the answers to my last posting re: value of nurse led
services. I must admit I was trying to gather relevant information to
support a presentation during an interview. Thank you for the responses.
Having been successful I am now on a mission to set up a service. I have
been involved with the Trust for several years as previously they have
purchased OH services under SLAs from my current employer and another local
Acute unit service. (Historically when mergers happened the different
geographical areas kept their previous arrangements).
I now have many queries. Here is a starter for 10!
* Would you request transfer of all the files from the current
provider or only on a “needs must” situation. eg recurrent issues-
presentation with work related problems to try to establish past history.
etc (with signed consent naturally)?
* How does one have a seamless transfer for the clients with
situations like hep B vac courses already in process?
* In the absence of a regular OH medical officer, is it satisfactory
to have a member of the in-house medical team in the application of PGDs?
* Can anyone confirm that it is still illegal for PEP to be given
under a PGD following HIV exposure due to inoculation incidents
* Does anyone have a proactive programme to get individuals with a
history of mental health problems into work and support them to continue in
work?
* Has anyone got a simple cheat sheet on how I might support the newly
appointed admin support with minimal knowledge of how OH works?
* Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Sandy
