Something else to consider is that the reaction may not be to the ethanol in the
drink but other complex alcohols etc, such as those found in red wine and dark
spirits, many people have adverse reactions to these which do not show up when
the person drinks light coloured alcoholic beverages such as white wine or
vodka, this may explain Jonothans failure to replicate the symptoms using vodka.
