Cygnus cf cygnus has been reported from Pedrera de s'Onix (Mallorca) in
deposits of approximately Pliocene/Pleistocene border age and Cygnus cf
olor from Victoria (Murcia), a site of late early Pleistocene age.
Swans are extremely rare in Late Pleistocene faunas from the Iberian
peninsula, the only known find is Cygnus cygnus from Santa Catalina
(Vizcaya) in layers of Latest Pleistocene-Early Holocene age (9100-12400
rcy BP).
