Librarians take that sort of thing in their stride. I am rather
disappointed that I was never asked for "Ibid., vol. 27" - most of my
colleagues have been. (One overheard exchange: "Do you take the journal
'Ibid'?" "No, but we can request the article for you on inter-library
loan!") On one glorious occasion, I was, however, asked for "Personal
communication"! That we did actually take a journal with the title "IEEE
Personal Communication Magazine" didn't make explaining things any easier...
