Why my dear Mr. Briggs, I am not aware of any such "History" between
us, and I am quite happy to admit that I don't know what the hell you
are talking about when you speculate about my possible motivations,
but I presume that we are all perfectly happy to abide by principles
of discourse that apply to all scholars: when an egregious error in
method is made, someone may point it out, since it prevents similar
errors being made in the future. How could this process possibly be
interpreted as some kind of vendetta? The gentleman doth protest too
much, methinks.
Anyway, as they say in The Godfather: it's nothing personal, it's
just business.
As for Ms. Greene's trophy: I suggest a life-size Priapus.
kind regards,
Scott Carson
