PRACTISING EVIDENCE-BASED CHILD HEALTH: Focus on obesity
3 day short course, 13-15th June 2007
Centre for Evidence-based Child Health, UCL Institute of Child Health,
London in collaboration with the University of Leeds
This evidence based course is for health care professionals and others who
wish to enhance their clinical or research skills, and learn more about
using best available evidence in their every day practice. Building on the
recent publication of the NICE guidelines (Dec 2006), the theme will be
child obesity.
Participants will experience how evidence based guidelines are
developed,and debate their implementation. They will also consider how to
incorporate the best available evidence on interventions, prognosis, and
diagnosis into their clinical decisions and the information they give to
patients.
The course involves a mix of interactive plenary and facilitated small
group sessions, combined with training in searching and support for
self-directed searching.
