Dear All
We are currently struggling to convince our Microbiology colleagues to
move into the 21st century when it comes to antibiotic assays. At the
present moment we offer Gentamicin using the AU400 with minimal input
from the Microbiologists for authorisation. We are moving this assay
onto the Centaur but our colleagues want to bring a TDx into
microbiology to perform this assay.
Our hospital will shortly be opening its renal unit and will require a
Vancomycin service on site. The Microbiologists have indicated that the
assay should be on the TDx but there is an assay available on the
Centaur.
I would be interested to know how other hospitals provide an antibiotic
assay and advice service.
Many thanks
Shirley
