Thanks for your comprehensive comment. Although you mentioned that the segment
analysis has not been theoretically related to this issue I think it is
interesting that you pointed to its potentials. It seems to me that the
sensitivity of segment analysis to the morphological changes in a finer scale
would make it more appropriate for road-width estimation. In my case, some
initial experiments with an average urban system suggest that there is a
correlation between road-widths and some measures of angular choice. If I make
sure of the validity of my results -and remain lucky to meet the 29th deadline
of course!- these will be reflected in my symposium paper.
