Evidence Base at the University of Central England (www.ebase.uce.ac.uk)
regularly organise conferences, training and other professional development
activities for the library sector. We are currently planning a small
conference on consulting and engaging teenagers and involving them in
library developments; a survey we recently carried out suggested this was
something which a lot of library staff find difficult.
We would like to hear from people who have carried out some sort of
consultation with teenagers and would be happy to speak for about 20 mins
about their activities – what you did and why, what the challenges were and
how you overcame them, was it worth it, what yo have done as a result etc.
I think it would be really useful for people to hear some ‘case studies’
with practical tips on how to go about it. The event will be held in March
in Birmingham or Wolverhampton.
