Hi All,
Myself, Richard Davies and Mads Huuse will be hosting a session on Seismic
Imaging of Fluid Flow and Sediment Remobilisation in Sedimentary Basins at
the upcoming AGU Spring Meeting in Acapulco, Mexico (21st-23rd May):
"A steadily increasing quality and abundance of seismic data in sedimentary
basins has led to the recognition of a multitude of fluid-flow phenomena
and large-scale sediment remobilization and injection structures in
sedimentary basins around the world. This session aims to bring together
researchers dealing with the seismic detection of meteoric water-, brine-,
hydrocarbon- and hydrothermal fluid- venting and associated sediment
remobilization phenomena in order to gain a better understanding on the
mechanisms, rates, fluxes and significance for past and present fluid flow,
retention and storage. Applications include onshore/offshore fluid mixing,
hydrocarbon prospectivity, methane budgets, compaction and fluid flow in
the upper crust"
