It may be of interest to know that I have experienced
problems with Bayer Multistix 8SG and urine nitrites
in urinalysis testing. I found that the pressed paper
urine sample cups that some clinics were using gave a
false positive test for nitrites within 4 minutes of
urine being placed in them. This problem was notified
both to the manufacturer, Vernacare, to Bayer and to
the MHRA who are investigating.
