Department of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry, University of Oxford
Postdoctoral Research Position
Salary range £ 25,633 - £ 31,525
An EPSRC funded Postdoctoral Research Assistantship is available for three
years to work on a collaborative project between
Professor T P Softley, Professor J S Foord and Professor R G Egdell in the
Chemistry Research Laboratory at Oxford.
The project involves the development of new experiments to study the
interaction of beams of electronically excited molecules (Rydberg states)
with solid surfaces. Applicants should have, or soon expect to obtain, a PhD
in experimental physical chemistry or physics. Experience with one or more
of the following areas would be advantageous: use of pulsed laser systems
and their applications in gas-phase spectroscopy or dynamics; UHV and
molecular beam technology; surface preparation and analysis; electron/ion
optics.
