Hi everyone
Conference update
Continental Tectonics ˆ the Peach and Horne meeting May 2007, Ullapool.
The PROVISIONAL list of accepted poster and oral contributions for the meeting
is now available from the meeting website at the Geological Society.
www.geolsoc.org.uk/peachandhorne
We will put together a detailed programme in the New Year but you'll be able to
get a flavour of the range of subjects and the nature of some of the debates
that will follow both in the conference halls and in the field. We believe that
there is an intriguing mix of contributions that cover a host of tectonic issues
and have global coverage.
Speakers ˆ talk slots are of the standard TSG/AGU duration of 15 minutes
(including specific discussion time, so plan to talk for 12 minutes maximum).
Each session will have a brief scene-setting and a general discussion period
led by each session chair.
Posters ˆ we will give you guidance on sizes etc in the New Year.
Our apologies to those of you who requested talks. As ever, we had too many
offers of oral presentations and so we have had to be selective. We will
maximise the impact of posters by integrating catering arrangements with poster
venues and giving prime-time access.
Reminder: privileged registration for early-notified participants closes on 15th
December. Open registration is available to all from then (we have some spaces
remaining). Contact the Geological Society (website above) for more
information.
See you in the NW Highlands!
Rob Butler, Bob Holdsworth, Maarten Krabbendam, Rick Law and Rob Strachan.
