medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear all,
Regardless of the 'use', is it always the case that the further one
goes from 'feasts' and toward something like 'semidoubles' and to
'principal', the more complicated (and longer) the liturgy? And the
more a participant is meant to reflect on the feast?
I confess to thinking that, using the Hereford Use as an example, a
participant might not have cared much about the spiritual differences
reflected in being part of a semidouble feast one day, and a double
feast the next -- if I am wrong, please correct me!
Best wishes,
Kim Robin
