We are re-opening a refurbished library in a couple of weeks, and along
with publicity literature (thanks to those who forwarded information
from "Welcome library leaflet" posting) we would like to offer a "Library
Induction" ie fully explain the new layout and increased services on offer
to exisiting and new customers. Apart from academic libraries who run these
as a matter of course for students at the start of the academic year, there
does not seem to be much call for, or information about, public library
services who may do this. Have you got new services and information you
want your users to take up? How do you get these across to people either
singly or as a group? How does this affect staffing issues etc? Any
comments welcome!
