Advanced time management - New for 2006-07 - Salford

This workshop is aimed at staff who have already undertaken some basic time management training and would like to develop their skills further. The course will give delegates the opportunity to look at how they currently use their time and identify areas for development.
The course will cover:
- Having a clear vision
- Activity logs
- knowing where you focus attention
- setting priorities
- Examining why a lot of time management advice does not work
- Exploring the balance between pro-active and reactive actions
- Knowing when to say no
- Tackling resistance
- Managing productive meetings
- effective agenda setting and management
- how to chair and participate in meetings that produce results

Voice production - Salford
Eluned Owen
Aim: To enable participants to develop a range of techniques for good voice production and to provide diagnostic help for delegates on specific voice issues.
Objectives:
At the end of the course participants will have:
1. Gained an understanding of how the voice is produced.
2. Identified their own vocal strengths and weaknesses.
3. Learned techniques for warming up and caring for their voice.
4. Developed a voice care programme tailored to their vocal requirements.
5. Extended their vocal range.
Course content will include:
-why you have the voice you do
-understanding the way the voice works
-posture
-breathing exercises
-pitch and tone
-articulation
-care of the voice
-making the voice interesting
Preparation:
Participants will have to wear loose, comfortable clothes and flat shoes. They will also need to bring with them five minutes of a presentation or lecture to use as material for working on their vocal technique.
