We are looking for three qualitative researchers to join the DIPEx research group in the Department of Primary Health Care, University of Oxford
Qualitative Researchers and Senior Qualitative Researchers
3 posts: Fixed Term for 15 months (full time) on
Research Grade 7 salary range £25,633- £31,525
or 13 months (Full Time) on Research Grade 8 Salary range: £32,471-£38,772
DIPEx - Personal Experiences of Health and Illness, is a unique web-based resource linking video, audio and text based interviews about people’s experience of illness with evidence based information about treatment options and the conditions themselves, answers to frequently asked questions and links to other sources of information and support groups. The site is intended for patients, their families and carers, and as a teaching tool for health care professionals. www.dipex.org receives around 1.3 million hits a months and has won several awards including the Social Innovations award (2001), the BUPA communication award (2004) and was highly commended in the BMJ Book Awards (2005) and the Health Service Journals Award (2005). Youth Health Talk was launched in March 2006 to cover experiences of 16-25 year olds.
We are seeking three qualitative researchers to join the DIPEx team to undertake a leading role in the development of new DIPEx and Youth Health Talk projects on young people with epilepsy, experiences of being invited to take part in a clinical trial and mental health in Black and minority ethnic groups. The researchers will plan, conduct and analyse in-depth interviews and write around 25 ‘Talking About’ thematic summaries for the website (see www.dipex.org ). The posts are full-time (37.5hrs per week) for 13 months or 15 months, depending on grade and experience.
