Doug, I enjoyed this very much. When I read it the first time, the
syntactical articulation of a seemingly sci-fi subject matter carried me
right past the rhyme scheme. Subsequent readings made me admire your
management of the rhymes, which usually I can't tolerate at all in 21st
century poetry, except for the occasional ironic touch. The opening iris
shot and subsequent fade invoked cine-poetry since I know Visconti made a
film from the book, though I can't summon up any images right now from one
viewing many years ago. Barry
