Except, of course, for the seizure of Otranto and its surrounding
countryside in 1480. Whereas the subsequent campaign of reconquest
involved military contributions from a number of states from Portugal to
Hungary, the Hungarians are said to have fought with such distinction
that they were given the honor of entering Otranto first once it had
been retaken in 1481. Is this episode no longer remembered in Hungary?
A very small point.
