Emerald Group Publishing announces the following events and activities to
be held at the World Library and Information Congress: 72nd IFLA General
Conference and Council in Seoul, Korea, August 20th -24th. The 2006
meeting is themed "Libraries: Dynamic Engines for the Knowledge and
Information Society". Emerald staff will be on hand in exhibit booth No.
73-80 in the COEX Exhibition Centre throughout the conference.
On Sunday, August 20th Emerald will sponsor the IFLA Asia & Oceania Social
Event, held from 7.00 – 9.00 PM at Restaurant Marche 1569, Samsungdon 5-1
Gangnam-gu, in Seoul.
Emerald invites IFLA attendees to a free Library Link Workshop on Monday,
August 21st from 11:30 – 2:00 PM in the Vivace Room of the COEX
Intercontinental Seoul Hotel. The format will be a light lunch followed by
a review of Emerald services for librarians as authors; service providers

A workshop and discussion for LIS professionals, students, and faculty
entitled “Getting Published in the International Literature” will be
facilitated by Gary Gorman, Chair, IFLA Asia and Oceania Regional Section,
and Editor of Emerald Journal Online Information Review. It will be held
on Monday, August 21st at 4:00 PM in the Vivace Room of the COEX
Intercontinental Seoul Hotel.
Emerald Vice President China & India, Shariq Mumtaz will speak on “Meeting
the Needs of Business Schools in the Era of Executive MBAs,” highlighting
how Emerald products and services provide solutions to information
problems in business and LIS schools in China and India. This will take
place on Tuesday, August 22nd at 10:00 AM in the Exhibition Hall.
On Tuesday the winner of the MP3 player prize drawing will be announced.
All visitors to the Emerald booth during the conference will be entered
into the drawing.
