I wonder if you would be kind enough to forward this email on to the
Evidence- Based Health List?
I am seeking volunteers (doctors, nurses, social workers etc) to test a
Healthcare Database in Summertown Oxford for
one hour on either the 13th or 14th September 2006
The remaining spots I have to fill are either:
Wednesday 13th September 12.00 to 13.00
or
Thursday 14th September 13.30 to 14.30
Would you be interested in taking part in a usability test of a well-known
widely used healthcare database? You would be making a very necessary and
valuable contribution to its improvement.
The test will help us understand how that resource is used and can be
improved.
We're seeking healthcare workers (doctors, nurses, GPs, midwives,
physiotherapists etc) who have used, or use the internet to look for
health-related information, to help us understand which parts of the
database work for you and which are confusing.
You can have a great deal or only a little experience of the internet but
your impressions will be valuable.
What does the test involve?
The test involves you using a healthcare database and telling us what you
think about it. The test will be conducted in Summertown Oxford on either
the 13th, 14th or 15th September 2006 and will take one hour of your time.
We will ask you questions such as:
* Is it easy to use?
* Do you find the information useful to you?
* We will also ask you to find some things on the site.
We are not testing you but rather the product. Nothing you do, or say about
the product, will be wrong. All feedback positive or negative will be
helpful to us.
The test involves you using a computer and thinking-aloud. There will be an
interviewer in the room with you who will audio-tape your responses and take
written notes.
The audio-tapes will be used strictly for research purposes only and will
not be not be used for any other purpose. You are welcome to see the final
written notes.
To reiterate: we are not testing you, but rather the product. Nothing you
do, or say about the product, will be wrong. All feedback positive or
negative will be helpful to us.
Would you be interested in taking part in this study (do you know anyone
else who may be willing to participate)? If you are able to take part,
please contact me by email
([log in to unmask]) or telephone: 01367
820606.
As a token of our thanks we will be giving all participants a gift.
With best wishes
