medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Bonjour, eh?
André-Yves Bourgès asked:

According to my handy, dandy Bauer-Arndt-Gingrich
"A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and
Other Early Christian Literature" the Koine Greek
word for "witness" is [transliteration my own, I fear]
"marturos", the Greek word from which we have
derived "martyr", according to my puny abridgement
of the OED.
André-Yves, nothing wrong with you memory at all!
Regards to all,
Frank
