Books on prescription
Have any other Books on Prescription schemes carried out an evaluation?
Camden is especially interested in sharing good practice with other
inner city area. We're looking to do something fairly simple.
Many thanks

Subject: Public Library Journal - 20th Anniversary
Apologies for cross posting.
In October, it is the 20th anniversary of The Public Library Journal,
coinciding with the Public Library Authorities Conference in
Southampton.
To mark this occasion we are producing an 'extra' Anniversary A5 edition
of PLJ that will be distributed to PLG members and PLJ subscribers
alongside the Winter 2006 issue of the Journal (or by hand to each
delegate at the PLA Conference - worth going just to get an early
sighting I suggest!) I would like to collect some comments from readers
to include in the supplement regarding 'what you think' of PLJ (good and
bad; anonymous or attributed...
!) If you would be so kind as to give us a sentence or two, or even just
a few choice words, please message me off-list.
- I need to have comments in by August 14th.
Many thanks in advance and I look forward to the feedback.
Best regards,
Mark McCree

Subject: AUDIO VISUAL IN LIBRARIES. IN PARTICULAR MUSIC CD
Dear all
Following on from the email debate we have all been having about audio
visua= l materials in libraries, here is some information just in about
part of tha= t debate which is the life left in the physical music CD
format.
For those of you who subscribe to it check Music Week dated 29.07.06 on
page= 20. This is part of an article on CD manufacturing=20 "Before
legal downloading really started to blossom, disc makers feared dow=
nloading would cut physical media out of the market entirely. Talk to
them n= ow and they are surprisingly happy about the situation. From the
CD producer= 's point of view, downloading seems to have boosted overall
business.=20 ....... Far from killing off the music CD business in
general, the downloa= d market has triggered the production of more
artist albums"=20 So CDs will be with us for a little longer yet.
Just thought i would send this round to re assure you who were concerned
abo= ut the format's life Regards David=20
