Applications are invited for an MRC Studentship to undertake a DPhil by
research in the field of primary care. The Department of Primary Health
Care undertakes several research programmes including cancer, diabetes &
vascular disease, childhood infections, evidence-based medicine,
monitoring, the database of patient experience, and the Cochrane Tobacco

The programmes involve medical practitioners, epidemiologists,
statisticians, microbiologists and social scientists and* *applications
will be considered from good honours graduates with relevant training in
any of these disciplines. Training will be provided and tailored to
meet the specific experience and needs of the successful applicant.
Applicants must be eligible for an MRC Studentship (see MRC Studentship
Handbook at www.mrc.ac.uk <http://www.mrc.ac.uk/>) and for admission as
a probationer research student to Oxford University (see graduate

cover all fees plus an annual stipend of approximately £14k for a fixed
term of three years.
