medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear colleagues,
I have been a lurker on this list for many years and finally have something to
contribute. I have produced a website with the students in my seminar "The
Medieval World of Umberto Eco's Name of the Rose" analyzing a manuscript of
fourteenth-century devotional/mnemonic diagrams in Yale's Beinecke Library. The
site includes digital scans of all the pages in the manuscript, translations of
selected diagrams, short commentary in caption form on individual pages, and
longer essays in pdf format. The URL is:
http://beinecke.library.yale.edu/speculum
The students and I welcome your comments or critiques.
Respectfully,
Brian Noell
