I've already answered Marjorie privately in connection with another
matter. For anyone else who may be interested, the best source I know
for how to access these sites (and archeological sites in Rome
generally) is Carmelo Calci's very informative _Il libro di Roma
archeologica_ (Roma: Adnkronos, 2000). Of the places, etc. mentioned
on the Webpage referred to above:
http://www.romacivica.net/tarcaf/storarc/lat_i.htm
most of the above-ground ones are freely accessible whereas the
underground ones are accessible upon request either from the Pontificia
Commissione di Archeologia Sacra (several are under catacomb churches)
or else from the Soprintendenza Archeologica di Roma. The Torre
dell'Angelo (the remains of a two-storey temple tomb) is not
visitable. Though, as the view on the Webpage shows, most of the
exterior is clearly visible from street level.
Best again,
John Dillon
