medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Thanks for this suggestion. It seems reasonably clear that it's actually
within the Mass, though, as one instance also asks that the people be
exhorted to say a Pater and Ave for the dead at the first lavatorium. And in
others, the priest is told to exhort the people to say a Pater and Ave at the
introit, then to say the De profundis at the lavatorium - and often at the end
of Mass to asperse the founder's tomb - so it does seem to refer to a point
somewhere in the middle.
