medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Greetings all!
I have a reference to someone arriving in Iceland to collect money "For St. Anthony"
shortly after 1400. Unfortunately we are not told WHICH St. Anthony! The hermit
(who might be represented by members of the Antonine order - I hope that's what
it's called in English, I´m working from German sources) - but St. Anthony of Padua strikes me
as another possibility. Does anyone know of fund-raising for either of these saints
going on at about this time?
Thanks in advance,
Meg
