Hi John,
We are getting inundated with requests for people to use USBs and download
from phone cameras, particularly for photos but also CVs. We have a large
number of guest workers and students using Lincoln Central Library and they
often want to email photos home.
Our IT department are now looking into this but we really need to be keeping
abreast of user "needs" rather than lagging behind which we are at present.

Subject: The Floppy Disk is dead? Long live the Multi-Format memory card
reader?
Date: Tue, 30 May 2006 14:57:26 +0100
Sorry for the cross-posting.
With the absence of floppy drives on new PC's, is there any evidence in our
market place of a growth in demand, not just for USB drives, but for readers
for Memory cards of various formats (SD, CF, MMC etc), for Cameras, PDA's
etc. (and some Panasonic TV's!)
Corporate PC purchases tend to be of 'business' machines, which generally
lack this provision, so there is an additional cost to us for this if we
want it.
Any thoughts?
Regards
JU
