Yes, this is something that caused a problem on a Linux box I recently
installed on. But it didn't happen on my Mac (with bash). Anyway, I've
already updated installCode.py for the next release so that the shell is
put at the top as shown below. (This only arose in the last release
because it is the first time we have tried to set the environment
variables there rather than in .cshrc or wherever.)
