Well, Doug, it's the old 'good news, bad news' routine.
The good news - for me - is that I am at last traveling - to England in May.
And I would like to quietly thank those people who have organised gigs
behind the scenes - plenty more room if you'd like me to appear in your
living room :-)
The bad news is that universities here are strapped for cash, particularly
ECU where you may have visited last time you were here. Low enrolments, drop
in government funding. They are talking of letting go two hundred staff at
that one uni alone! So, all funded visits to this part of Oz are unlikely
for awhile ... But my doors are wide open should you like to visit :-)
I'm off to China to work for 10 to 12 months from August - a village in the
north. Phew, hard work in extreme temperatures - but an experience. I think
from 60 to 70, I should get out and see the world, right? Right.

What’s received’s given out
in smaller measure. The speaker as hearer
comprehends what he can’t
say, a music of what sounds him.
