Today (26. March) is the feast day of:
Peter of Sebaste (d. c. 391) Peter was the youngest child of St.
Basil the Elder and St. Emmelia. His grandmother and three siblings
are also regarded as saints. Peter succeeded his brother Basil the
Great as abbot of the family monastery. He was noted for his
charity, including the use of all the monastery's possessions to help
the poor during a famine. In 380 he became bishop of Sebaste.
Ludger of Munster (d. 809) Ludger was a Frisian, educated at Utrecht
and then by Alcuin. He became a missionary in Heligoland, Frisia,
and Saxony, becoming bishop of Munster in 804.
