Today (16. March) is the feast day of:
Eusebia of Hamay (d. c. 680) The abbess of Hamay (near Douai),
Eusebia was the daughter of two saints. She had been placed there at
a young age to be raised by her saintly grandmother, and became
abbess herself at age 12.
Heribert (d. 1021) Heribert was a native of Worms who was educated
at Gorze. He served as chancellor to Emperor Otto III, who named H.
archbishop of Cologne in 998. Among other good works, H. founded the
monastery of Deutz.
Megingaud (d. 794) The Frankish noble Megingaud became a monk at
Fritzlar in 738. He ran the monastic school there, then became
abbot. In c. 754 he was made bishop of Wurzburg.
