POSDOCTORAL POSITION IN NORTHERN SOUTHAMERICA TECTONICS
The CTPA at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute is seeking to
fulfill a postdoctoral position in a project related to the study of
mountain building processes in Northern South America. A recent Ph.D. in
Geology is required, as well a demonstrable track record of recent
publications in the area of tectonics or structural geology. Candidate must
be fluent in English and must have a working level of Spanish. The position
requires at least six months of residency in Colombia, and candidates must
be willing to carry out extensive field-work in northern Colombia. Previous
field experience in Colombia would be an advantage. This is a one year
position renewable for a second year depending on progress and availability
of funding.
Position is available immediately. Starting salary is $35,000-42,000/year
depending on qualifications. There are additional funds for travel and
