I think this should really refer to "representing the date" using a
syntax encoding scheme, or maybe "structuring the representation of the
date" (or "structuring a value string") - but not "structuring the date".
A date is an "abstract resource"; I don't think I can structure the date
itself, only its representation in the form of a literal - and ISO8601
describes itself as a standard for representing dates and times.
