medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
anyway, the index of proper names, at the end of the books, enables to find
and identify:
Bersuire (Pierre), cf. Petrus Berchorius,
or, symetric : Hrabanus Maurus, cf Raban Maur.
Whatever you choose, the index will save you.
and if you hesit as I do between Honorius Augustodunensis, Honorius d'Autun
(Honorius dit d'Autun) and Honorius d'Augsburg, pray saint Rita.
Another question is about the christian name and the family name in indexes
Chretien de Troyes, of course, but
Du Bellay, Joachim. (the limit is at "the end of middle ages") Anyhow:
Molinet Jean, or Jean Molinet ? (and with Petrarch and Dante, others
questions...)
And André de la Vigne
De la Vigne André,
La Vigne André de
Vigne, André de la ?
have nice nightmares...
