medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Greetings Unto One and All!
I am a SCAdian (of almost 10-years now) with an interest in further
developing my SCA persona. I've recently been doing a lot of research
into the Florentine confraternities (in researching ideas for a
possible Household)...and have found that many have religious ties.
I personally am trying to find more information about Medieval
religion within Florence from 1420-1460. However, I'm trying to look
for any "alternative" religions to that area during that time (aka:
not Catholic or Jewish).
As for personal interest, I was a Religion Studies minor in college,
so I've always been curious about many religions of the world...what
their doctrine was, how they influenced the surrounding social
culture, etc etc ad nauseum. Mundanely, I was baptized and confirmed
as Lutheran...but I will firmly admit to be mostly agnostic with some
modern New Age tendencies as of late. [[Though I have been researching
"numinism" lately...trying to find out more about this religion based
on ancient Roman symbology.]]
Until the next time,
