medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
14 February was the feast of St Valentine in the Salisbury Calendar, a Feast
without rulers with simple Invitatory, and in the Hereford Calendar a Feast
with three lessons - unfortunately, I don't have a York Calendar to hand,
which would be the most relevant for your purposes :-)
He is still there in the Book of Common Prayer, of course ("Valentine, Bp
and Martyr"), and was there in the Roman Clandar until (presumably) 1969.
