I believe that Cathy Ball designed Times Old English to
be a variant of "Times," not "Times New Roman." I believe she designed it to
work around an early problem on Mac computers. What Times Old English does is
to replace the left-pointing guillemet, right-pointing guillemet, fi-ligature,
and fl-ligature with the eth and thorn. In other words, so that Option + Shift
plus 3, 4, 5, 6 would yield Ð ð Þ þ.

It is good for email which needs ÐðÞþ. It does not have the vowels with
macrons, that are available in a word processing only font, such as the
original (pre Unicode) versions of Peter Baker's font, "Junius."

What Times Old English does is to make ÐðÞþ appear in email, on any computer
that has any font which has ÐðÞþ in it, at the locations I mentioned above.

Same with one of the fonts in Peter Baker's "Junius" font suitcase, the font
"Junius Rough."
Times _New_ Roman does include Ð ð Þ þ.
If any of you think you do not have the ability to write Thorn and Eth, yet
those letters properly display on your screen, in this email, then you do have
the ability to write them. That which I can make show up on your screen can be
done by you, too. :)
