Apologies for cross postings...
The 2006 GRC on Rock Deformation is the 6th in a series of conference
that have been organised since 1995 by the Physical Properties of Earth
Materials Community, most recently in 2004 on The Role of Water on Rock
Deformation, and will be held at the Big Sky Resort, in the heart of the
northern Rockies. The theme of this conference is the relationship
between the processes of rock deformation (from the nano-scale diffusion
of atoms up to the lithospheric-scale transfer of large volumes of
molten rock) and the spatial and temporal patterns that result.
Applications for attendance (not registration, which depends on
acceptance by the conference chair) are now open for the 2006 Gordon
Research Conference on Rock Deformation, to be held at Big Sky, Montana,
the 3-8 September, 2006. The following links provide:

The deadline for applications is the 1st of May 2006
The Carl Storm International Diversity Fellowship program has limited
funds to support graduate students and post docs who are of non-U.S.
nationality and are currently based outside of the U.S., at Gordon
Conferences. The Chair must nominate a candidate for support. Potential
candidates for this Fellowship should be of a demographic that is
considered by the Chair to be underrepresented in the scientific field
of the specific Conference community. Awards are available on a
first-come, first-served basis.
Tectask, (www.tectask.org) the Tectonics & Structural Geology Taskforce
of the IUGS has made available two scholarships each of 500 Euros to
support TecTask members who are graduate students, post-docs or
researchers from developing countries to assist them in attending this
year's Gordon Conference on Rock Deformation. Please contact the chair
if you would like to be considered for one of these scholarships.
see you there
