McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research
Cambridge University
Open Competition for Project Funding, 2006
The McDonald Institute supports archaeological research at Cambridge
through the provision of facilities and funding. It now invites applications
for an innovative new project in any branch of archaeology that will enhance
and strengthen Cambridge archaeology’s existing world-class portfolio of
research activity.
The McDonald Institute will provide core funding for a three-year
post-doctoral research salary (at Research Associate or Senior Research
Associate level, £20,044-30,002 or £25,565-36,959 respectively), plus an
annual allowance of up to £10,000 for travel, equipment, and other support
costs. The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate the ability
to raise substantial additional external funds for the project. If the
project demonstrates outstanding development during its three-year term, the
McDonald Institute core funding may be extended for a further two years.
Further particulars and an application form (PD18) may be obtained from Mrs
Deborah Parr, McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research (tel: 01223
