Dear Colleagues,
Please could you alert anyone you think may be interested in applying
for a postdoctoral position in zooarchaeology just advertised in the
Archaeology Dept here at Durham University.
The project is entitled “The origin and spread of stock-keeping in the
Near East and Europe” and is funded for x4 years by the Arts and
Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
The main objective is to compile a comprehensive database of select
animal bone data from relevant sites in the Near East and Europe in
order to systematically document the evidence for animal domestication
and stock-keeping associated with the spread of the Neolithic ’cultural
package’ through Europe. This will be a major collaborative project,
involving numerous other zooarch colleagues and groups. The project is a
follow-on to a previously funded and similar project which dealt with
the archaeobotanical evidence.
The closing date for applications is the 25th October 2006. Further
details of application process etc can be found at the University of
Durham's job vacancy web page (https://jobs.dur.ac.uk/default.asp).
